Radu Szekely has been working in education for over 20 years, first in Romania, then most of the time in Finland and France. He has trained teachers in various countries through programs funded by the European Commission. He has conducted studies at European level on the impact of continuous professional education of teachers and for identifying ways to ensure the transfer of good practice across the European Union. He has also worked worldwide with the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE). He was a member of the Board of Education of the Local Council of Turku, Finland, for five years. All this has given him the opportunity to know a large part of the education systems in Europe and the world, with their needs and resources, with strengths and weaknesses. He offered consultancy to many organizations in the process of modernizing and streamlining the educational act. Four years ago he co-founded the Finnish School in Sibiu, and he coordinates the pedagogical content of the Finnish Teacher Training Center. He was an advisor and cabinet director of the Romanian Minister of Education, a position from which he coordinated the elaboration of the vision “Education unites us”. Since January 2020, he has been the Chief Academic Officer of the Swiss group winsedswiss, which promotes dual vocational education.
